Has anyone found a really astounding (film) actress?!

Question: Don't get me wrong, i've seen some really great preformances on screen, but i just don't feel like i've been wowed more than once by the same person. I geuss i'm looking for an actress that has shown a wide range of personality & emotion in her works (not just emotion.) Know of anyone like that?

Katherine Hepburn
Nicole Kidman
Glenn Close
Meryl Streep
Jodie Foster

Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, and Merryl Streep
have all impressed me on several occasions on all different levels.

Hmm....I'd say Ashley Judd, but thats because she's my favourite. But she always tends to play very strong or emotionally over-wrought characters. I just think she's brilliant at it.

As far as range is concerned, perhaps Cate Blanchett?

Merryl Streep.

Sandra Bullock, I have seen many of her movies and no matter what role she is playing she does an awesome job! In Practical Magic when her husband is killed you really believe that she feels the pain, in The Lakehouse she gives a superb performance! Premonition was great too, Her comedies are good too but her dramas are the best!

Cate Blanchett and Emma Thompson are *amazing* actresses with great depth.

Meeryl Streep and Jodie Foster

I have lots, though I haven't seen much in the world of cinema compared to most people, because I'm 16.

Cate Blanchett is great in whatever movie I see her in, whether it the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, or Notes on a Scandal.

I've only seen Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada and she was fantastic in it. She was so convincing as the uncomprimising and delightfully cruel boss, I think she should have won an Oscar.

Those are my candidates,

Some of my favorites are Cate Blanchett, Joan Allen, Emma Thompson and Michelle Pfeiffer. I have yet to see a bad performance from any of them.

Julianne Moore
