Nicola B Sweetheart ..dont try and dont do it ...never .it may end your super precious plained life ....somepipo are lucky and say if you wanted to try coz your friend did it ....and then you try to make that move ..and you find you are in deep **** !! what then would you do ?
would you start naming your friends who told you they have managed one way or the other ?
you are a sweetheart and thats just not for you ....forget ....

Even if it is illegal there's only like a 0.000001% chance you'll get caught.

yes it is if they are copyrighted - most are.

Yes it is. Caught or not is up to you; it's still illegal.

yes its illegal, but noone will find out ;)

Oh yes, it still illegal. Can't imagine it ever changing.

Yes. If they're copyrighted you can get in trouble if you get caught.

As long as you own the original copy, and you are making a copy for back-up purposes only, then it's legal.

It varies from country to country.

I seem to recall some country's copyright laws have effectively outlawed iPods!

It is not illegal as long as you dont sell it.
You're allowed to copy them for your own use, like a back-up
incase the real one gets scratched.

yes, it is illegal. don't get caught, and u'll probably be alright tho. just don't try selling them!

Yeah. The police can trace ANYTHING on your computer, right down to what you are doing right now. If they find out you have been copying dvd's they can arrest you for copyright laws, or you will be fined thousands of pounds.

Not to scare you, but don't do the crime if you can't do the time :P

Yes its illegal to copy anything that is copyrighted , but unless your bragging about it to your mates about your huge illegal downloads and copies nothing willhappen.
Also youll be more at risk if you resell copies (piracy)

I believe you are by-law allowed to make "back-up"s of any movies or music that you own.

Making back-ups of movies you don't.... illegal.

Yes though i doubt you would be caught

Of course it is! Piracy has been illegal since it became technologically possible - you might as well walk into HMV and stuff your bag full of DVDs. The money amassed from sales of DVDs, cinema tickets, merchandise etc goes back into the film industry to fund film production, and the more this funding is reduced by piracy, the less will be spent on the production of less profitable independant films - films like Trainspotting, Dead Man's Shoes, This is England etc, would probably never have been made. If someone has worked (eg. produced, written or directed a film), they deserve to be paid.

yes

It is illegal to copy anything that is copywrited. Although many people do for personal use.

Technically, it is illegal in the eyes of the law.
Unless you're publicly broadcasting or publicly selling what you copied, most authorities don't worry too much about it.
**Unless it's a song--record companies have been known to go after people with tooth and nail!**

read the FBI warning at the beginning. you can copy them for personal use only.

if you own the dvd and you back it up for your own personal use then it's not illegal.
it's just like software and music, if you own a cd and upload it to your computer and burn it to another cd that's not illegal.

Definitely
