Should I have bought the 2 disc DVD of Transformers instead of the regular one?!

Question: I told my mom to be careful with buying HD dvds and blue-ray dvds since we don't have those dvd players. instead she went with the cheapest, the regular Transformers dvd. Now I found out that they had a special edition dvd. am i missing out on great features or just stick with the regular dvd?

My husband bought the 2 disc DVD. I've already watched the extra DVD. It is several hours of how the movie was made, how the actors were chosen and (of course) how the actual TRANSFORMERS were made......FYI....they were NOT all computer generated.

It was interesting to me, but I like that kind of stuff. It also showed 3 of the trailers AND some of the original transformer commercials and cartoons from the 80's.

only if you wanted to see on the extra stuff

I dont think the movie was that great anyway... :(

prob not, the added features are prob just the director describing how the special effects were made

i went tout and got the cheepest one as well...because it's all abotu the movie...i dont want to know how it was made and stuff...it takes away all the exitement you no and omg transformers rocks~!!!!!!!!!!!

More often than not the Special Edition sets include a bunch of stuff you probably wont even watch once, let alone enough times to justify the added expense. I can't tell you how many of these "collector" sets I own that the 2nd DVD has never been removed from the case.

It really comes down to if you think its worth the bragging rights, and the bigger box on your shelf. Anyway, now days the company that makes the DVD will have the extra features on their website, so they can pump you full of advertisements.

Enjoy the movie and thank your mother :-)

if you're the type who likes all the extra features than yes, should have gone with the 2disc because I'm sure there is alot of extras on how they filmed the special effects.

I'm a watch the movie and thats it type of guy.

They have two two disc sets, I bought one with the Transformers beginning disc, but it really isn't all that interesting. Set like a comicbook, tells a bit of the story that you really already picked up from the movie. The other two disc movie, had some extras such as the commentary, how they made the Scorponuk attack , it really didn't look like it had much of interest really.
