Well, you have the princess locked in the castle awaiting rescue. This shows women in a very passive role (I think) and men in a more dominant one.
Next, all the soldiers fighting for the king are men, like the guys rounding up fairy tale characters in the forest are all men, implying that women don't work or at least aren't in positions of authority if they do work.
Finally, when Farquaad realizes that Fiona is "cursed", he threatens to lock her away. If he has the authority to do this, it implies that the position of queen is a figurehead position with no real authority...that ultimate authority lies with the king/husband in this particular society.
how about the fact that the females are always the ones that need rescuing.....
