Many years, last I went the price of a ticket was $4 each. That tells you pretty much everything. I just prefer to watch movies at home and spend my money on a DVD or PpView.
Last - The Dark is Rising (its stupid, but I got in for free)
3:10 to Yuma (a great movie to see if you haven't been to the theater in years. a movie that gives you hope that hollywood isn't running out of ideas)
Sydney White (cute and enjoyable yet predictable chick flick. rent it)
Stardust (could have been better but its funny, adventurous and entertaining)

Maybe 10 days ago. There was a german film festival in our city, I watched "Wer fruher stirbt ist longer tot" - "Who dies early is longer dead" great comedy
im going 2morrow 2 see stardust with my kids before that went 2 see kids cinema and watch firehouse dog
