I'd say The Shining has to be one of the best horrors. Sideways is underrated and should be up there in the comedy. The Godfather is frequently said to be the best, along with Citizen Kane, Tokyo Story, Seven Samurai (Action), Pulp Fiction (Comedy, Action) and Star Wars (Action)
Er - well my all time favorite is Pan's Labyrinth.
