Question about the movie The Prestige with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale?!

Question: Was the twin that tried to free the dying Hugh from the trap the evil one (that also tied the knot that killed Hugh's wife) or the good one?

The first time they show that show it looks like Christian did not care that he was dying and then the second time he got all panicked and tried to help him.

The one who died was the single brother not the married brother. The married brother is the brother that tied the knot, but I don't believe he is the one who killed the wife. I think that was the older magician played bt Michael Caine. He was the one resposible for checking the knots and he didn't. That is where the trick went wrong. If the knot was wrong then he knew it was wrong and did nothing to remedy the problem. I think he wanted the fight and he wanted the wife out of the picture. He wanted to take the husban on as his partner/bread winner and to do that he had to get rid of the wife and the other magician. Notice, that in the end Caine gets all the money, and there is the real trick.

There were no twins. Christian Bale only played Alfred Borden. He is the one who tied the knot.

Hard to say, for there is no way of telling (for Hugh) if the clone lived or died from show to show

you cant seperate good twin and evil twin, the twin that tied the knot didnt mean to kill the guy's wife, but it was the twin that no one knew who tried to save the other guy
