What songs should I use for a Mexican movie?!

Question: I am making a movie for my spanish IV class. It is going to be a funny movie, with badly dubbed voices and what not, what mexican or spanish sounding sounds should I use for it?

Listen to some Latin radio stations. No, better yet listen and RECORD 'em. Since you aren't making money with this, I doubt that there is an copyright infringement.

Put in songs whose lyrics and music fit the mood. The Mexican music that cracks me up is the stuff with lots of accordions and uses the tuba for the bass. Also, maybe you could just loop the solos, where no one is singing (that way the lyrics wouldn't distract).

Remember, as a rule no vocal music while there is dialog.
But the right vocal song can be a great scene transition.

Have fun!

La Cucaracha and or La Bamba

it depends on what your movie is about...

Just type in dogpile.com "mexican music"?

Wasted Days & Wasted Nights by Freddy Fender

If it is a wedding or love scene....Europa, by Carlos Santana. Beyond that....I cant help you.

Come A Lttle Bit Closer... Jay & The Americans

anything by Alejandro Fernandez... he's awesome!

Malague?a Salerosa by Chingon.

It's a love song. I don't know if that fits with your movie, but it's very over the top and awesome.
