And if u wanna know why Armageddon, it was a kick-@s$ movie and in dat there was not any failure on destroying the Asteroid, it was more visualised and had a better storyline
The reason why it has a better story is that in Deep Impact, they fail to destroy the comet and in Armageddon they succeed in destroying the Asteroid...Deep Impact was too boring exept for the scene where the comet enters the air, Armageddon was a big kick@s$ right from the beggining

1-6 Armageddon, do not waste your time on Deep Impact, it blows
I much preferred Deep Impact - it was far more realistic (as far as a giant meteor hitting earth), it was.."deeper", if you know what I mean. But cheesy.
Armageddom was more like a giant never-ending rock music video - it was very loud, very brash and very cheesy. Good cast though.
Armageddon had more "action" as the entire movie is basically about the team getting trained (with lots of music and slow mo to drive home the point) and their mission in the space shuttles and on the asteroid.
Deep Impact is more character-driven, concentrating on what needs to be done to save as many as they can, and the individual stories of several characters.

1 - Umm its close. But some of the scenes of the comet hitting Earth in Deep Impact were incredible.

5 - Armageddon has some good choices, but I'd say Deep Impact has a better cast and better acting

Why? Because it's exciting, well put together, realistic, and shot beautifully. Armageddon on the other hand, is fun but way too cheesy.
For example, their plan to blow up the asteroid is horrible! Using nuclear weapons would indeed break it apart, but only into smaller chunks that would still obliterate the Earth, only it many different areas. It could never work.
Most definitely Armageddon,
the action is brilliant, the likelihood of it happening? who knows but sure it seemed real enough, the storyline involves believable characters, it keeps the correct balance on focus of teh characters and big evil asteroid the size of texas, teh casting could not have been more perfect and it is a movie that can be watched over and over and who can beat the excellent soundtrack!!

I like armageddon, but i think deep impact is probably a better movie. its a little more dramatic and they make it seem realistic. armageddon is way over the top actions wise and stuff. just rent em both
