I am looking for someone how knows old movies?!

Question: An older gent told me about a movie from the late 50's early 60's that some British soldiers were taken aboard a German ship as P.O.W.'s. They anchored in a cove to repair the ship. One of the soldiers escaped, climbed the cliff and began snipping the German sailors. In the end a British ship came and rescued the soldiers. If this sounds familiar to anyone let me know. I volunteer for a nursing home once a week and thought it would be a nice surprise to play the movie for him.

Yes, I recall that movie. I seen it more than once. They showed it on T.V. several times.

SAILOR OF THE KING (1953)

The lone sniper kept shooting at the German sailors as they tried to repair their ship. In fact, that one sniper delayed repairs long enough for the main allied force to come in and sink it.

An American made movie based on the same lines was: 'Heaven Knows Mr. Allison" with Robert Mitchum as a lone marine sniper against the Japanese.
