They heard children laughing and screaming outside the tent because the guy in the movie was supposedly a child killer. He would put one kid in the corner while he killed the other kid that's why Mike was standing in the corner.

That part freaked me out too. I suppose he saw the Witch and she made him stand in the corner. Possession? Or was he just to scared to do anything except exactly what she/it wanted?
That's scarier to me personally. He wasn't possessed, he was just so @&#% scared that he got into that corner and faced the wall.
the movie was fake, but their is a legend about somthing in the woods outside Brekitsville, MD.

If you watch toward the start of the movie when they are talking to the locals about the Blair Witch, I says that the witch would make one stand in the corner while she did what she did to the other. When you see Mike standing in the corner, that's when the silly snotty bubble blowing chick gets hammered..... Sorry I cant remember her name :
