Gotta be Pulp Fiction. Great actor though. It's pretty hard not to enjoy him in any of his films.

Pulp Fiction.

My fave Samuel L. Jackson movie is "Changing Lanes".

Jungle Fever

Quentin Tarantino related, Jackie Brown

Non-Quentin Tarantino related, Die Hard With a Vengeance

The Caveman's Valentine (2001)
Romulus is mentally ill, a troglodyte in a New York City park. He's also a gifted composer and the father of a city cop. On Valentine's Day, a young man freezes in a tree near his cave. The police determine it's the accidental death of someone behaving bizarrely, but Romulus believes a friend of the dead youth who says that noted avant-garde photographer, David Leppenraub, murdered him. Romulus, urged on by hallucinations of his wife as a young woman, resolves to catch the killer and manages to be invited to Leppenraub's farm to play a new composition. Can Romulus hold it together long enough to get to the bottom of the death and also to make a breakthrough with his daughter?

I think this is one of the most amazing films I've ever seen, and shame on me for leaving it off movie lists! For me, this is THE best Samuel L. Jackson performance EVER! He's magnetic, remarkable, mesmerizing, and astonishing throughout this film. I still find it unbelievable that he wasn't even nominated for an Oscar! He was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award, and that's all! Where were these people that they couldn't recognize a phenomenal performance that not just anyone could have turned in? It would be nearly impossible to picture anyone else playing Romulus. I started watching this not expecting much more than a couple of hours of entertainment. By the end, I was absolutely stunned by all that had transpired! Again, I must say mesmerizing.

Academy picks were:
Russell Crowe, "A Beautiful Mind"
Sean Penn, "I Am Sam"
Will Smith, "Ali"
Denzel Washington, "Training Day" (winner)
Tom Wilkinson, "In the Bedroom"
For me, Samuel L. Jackson's performance beats EVERYONE on that list!
