1. The Lakota did NOT need a white savior (Kevin Costner).
2. The Pawnee were NOT evil.
3. Native people of the prairies did have contact with Americans at the time of the civil war. It wasn't like the movie so much where they were surprised to see white men.
I thought the movie was pretty good though. It went against the stereotype of the stoic Native perpetuated by Hollywood.
But this is the problem: I don't know where the myths may lie.
