The urban legend movies are good, i mean there not scary but there not bad movies.
What Lies Beneath. It's really well acted, well written, and well filmed. Also, it's really scary without doing the torture thing that's so popular now-a-days.
My favorite was Scream 1. I thought it was hilliarious but scary the first time I watched it years ago. I have watched it dozens of time now. I like the Saw series now.
Signs - spine chilling soundtrack, outrageous jump/scare sequences and guarentees to make you leave your light on for the night.
Sleepy Hollow. Why? Because I grew up near Sleepy Hollow which now called Tarrytown. When I was young & I would go there to visit family friends (like a 30min drive) I would think about the book (The legend of Sleepy Hollow) and it would just seem so eary & when the movie came out it made it even more so.
Shawn of the Dead. It is supposed to rip on every zombie movie, yet it is better than all of them.
The Exorcist, because it was voted the scariest movie of all time. I couldn't sleep in my bed for days without covering myself up completely, and i have to pass 3 bedrooms in my house before i get to my bedroom, and they are all top stairs and they are all empty with beds in them. Yeah freaking scary!

Halloween(all of them), hands down. No matter how much you kill Michael he always comes back but you never know why he is after you if he is after only one particular person. I guess the other people be in his way huh.
Jason, Freddy, Chucky and the rest of them are the same but Michael he is a nut and a half. LOL
