How did you feel when you watched "The Day After", the TV movie from t!

Question: wow...a blast from the past...for the time a very plausable scenario and special effects, while corny now were good for the time.....although i do think the core concept is very valid even today, just with dofferent players.....and maybe not on that scale, but still possible on a smaller scale.....one city, a nuke stashed in a truck, and LA or NYC or Vegas going up in a fireball.....don't think you'll ever see that widespread destruction, but terrorists will do it if they ever get their hands on one.....more realistic would be the total breakdown of society....like when the guy confronted people camping in his front yard and they shot him for telling them to get the f*uck off his land....now that will happen....have to wonder if you saw it recently on cable or if you're one of us who saw it originally when it first aired.....

well considering that i was 3 when it was aired, i didnt see it then. I saw it when i was older and really didnt think much of it. Thought it was kinda silly and over dramatic.

I don't know how old I was when I first say that movie but my father was in the airforce and we were stationed on a base somewhere and from my bedroom window you could see over almost the entire base. That included missile silo's. Most kids should be afriad of the boogie man, or monsters under the bed, for about 2 years I was afraid of nuclear war. It wasn't so much the idea of being blown up that scared me but seeing what things were like afterward.

We watched that in 7th grade science class... I was totally intrigued about a-bombs. It was an interesting movie.

It was good. If you enjoy reading, try reading "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon. It's rather large, but a great post nuclear war read.

I remember what a big deal that movie was when it came out.
I cried my eyes out when I saw it at the time. It was really scary to everyone, because we felt that it was such a real threat.

I thought that was a pretty good picture of
what really could happen. I still think about it.
