However, the Strodes didn't have Laurie while Michael was in the institution. Laurie was the baby in the crib (original movie/book) that was being babysat, along with Michael, by their older sister (whom Michael kills). He comes back to kill Laurie years later. Remember, in the original movie, Michael is only 20 years old and Laurie Strode is 16. Also, the book tells that Michael inherited 'the voices of samhain' from his grandfather. It skips a generation which is why Michaels parents were not crazy. Michael was crazy. Laurie's grandchildren should pretty much turn out crazy too! lol ;P
What do you mean? He wanted everyone in the Myers bloodline to die. By the 6th one, he also wanted to kill off the relatives of the Strodes who were living in his house.

He wanted to kill Laurie Strode in the original. Laurie Strode was actually Michael Myers long lost sister. While he was in the asylum, his parents had another baby which was Laurie. After the second one, Myers went after everyone who was in his bloodline.
