What is your favourite vampire movie? Why?

THE LOST BOYS (1987)

It took the "Peter Pan" story and went in a wild direction with it. The teen vampires are simply amazing. Sometimes people don't remember how innovative this film was for the time, much like "Fright Night" shattered previous images. By the way, "Fright Night" would be next on my list.

The cast is remarkable: Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Barnard Hughes, and the rest. Corey Haim and Corey Feldman are terrific with their battle of comic book knowledge. And the idea that the kid brother is going to tell mom about his brother becoming a vampire sounds just like kid-talk.

The songs chosen to fill the soundtrack are evocative and perfect. "People Are Strange" by Echo & the Bunnymen (covering The Doors' classic) is exactly right for the mood. Most people comment on the soundtrack when they talk about this film, another thing it shares with "Fright Night", which also has well-chosen music.

One of my favorite things about this film is a particular actor who gets very little attention: Billy Wirth! WOW! If I wasn't crazy about this film, I would watch it just for him. *sigh*

Interview with the Vampire...I've just loved it ever since it came out..it doesn't hurt that Lestat is like the sexiest character ever either.

Interview wth the Vamp...!!! good stuff!!!!
...I could watch it over + over again and never get bore of it...!!!

I don't have one, but I Am Legend looks pretty sweet.

The old Dracula with Bela Lugosi. Legendary! I also liked Nosferatu, and John Carpenter's Vampires (only because James Woods was in it and he kicks major @ss)

Queen of the damned-Lestat is HOT

Dracula 1979 version with Frank Langella. I thought he was soooooo sexy. It's been a long time since I saw that movie, so I don't remember much else about it except how gorgeous I thought he was at the time.

I thought Love at First Bite was a cute vampire spoof.

I would have said Interview with a Vampire if not for Tom Cruise--he is so NOT the Lestat I pictured when I read Anne Rice's book that he pretty much ruined it for me, although I really did enjoy Brad Pitt's whiny Louis and Kirsten Dunst was great!

Interview with vampire, absolutely adored it, it was so seductive and sensual.

queen of the damned and blade trinity they just rock and have cool actors in them

I luv interview with a vampire, and I swear it has nothing to do with the fact that Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise (that's pre crazy scientologist Tom) are in it ;p I luv the way this movie takes you through the stages of Louis life as a vamp, all his thoughts and feelings, isn't Louis soooo emo. And little Kirsten Dunst she's such a cute little blood sucker, and look at her now swing'n with spidey and everything lol ;p

30 Days of Night because that's what a vampire movie should be. Terrifying i mean you almost feel for those people. Knowing you could die at anytime, & how gory it is. Oh and wasn't Billy Wirth in an episode of Charmed.

Definitely not 30 Days Of Night. I would probably go with Lost Boys or Interview With A Vampire.

My two favorites are the ones I saw first, so many years ago:
"The Return of Dracula", a 1958 black-and-white chiller starring veteran actor Francis Lederer as Dracula, coming to modern America in the guise of a distant cousin of a small-town family. Okay production values, and Lederer is a mature, yet alluring vampire.
"The Brides of Dracula", a 1960 sequel to "The Horror of Dracula", once again cast Peter Cushing as Professor Van Helsing, fighting the wiles of a youngish vampire, played by David Peel. This technicolor treat has great design, fine acting, good action and alluring vampiresses as well as an intelligent script.

omg! i love this question! but i have to say i am quite a vampire fan so i have to say that i love all the vampire movies ive watched but my fave is Queen of the Damned and Interview with the Vampire! they are both great movies and good reads too! oh yeah, i am completely in love with the Brat Prince/Vampire Rockstar!
