Both are good epic movies, both were shot in tiny Malta and both are nice and gory :) Troy is more of a girly movie, maybe because its story is way more romantic than Gladiator's. On the other hand I've always been fascinated by ancient Roman culture. The heritage left behind by the Romans is incredible and will be appreciated for many generations to come. So without a doubt I'd pick Gladiator over Troy.
