I watched this a couple of weeks ago and i found it very scary!
In fact i had to keep looking away. It was very freaky in parts.
The whole film is in japanese though so if you buy it you will have to watch it with English subtitles.
The grudge etc are scary but they are just US remakes of the originals.
Personally i think the Japanese make the scariest horror movies!
Watch Apartment 1303 and judge for yourself. ;O)

lol most of them were b movies with subtitles we used to watch and make our own words up to the script. (ie the godzilla ones) not very scary quite funny actually

it has and will always be ju-on..maybe you've watch the scary movie 4. the one with the house and that small boy..that's the one..crazy scared..
and to make it better- the scarry feeling that is, make your room temperature lower and put on a high sound..

The ring - the remake as I saw that first.I saw the original later and it was exactly the same so there were no surprises.
