When you think about it, a female AI may actually create a strange sexual tension between the characters.
In past TV hits, the sexual tension between the characters actually drove the series along further than it would have gone by itself. They were cancelled or came to an end only after the sexual tension was released by having the characters "get together."
Past shows that utilized this formula were:
I Dream of Jeannie
Moonlighting
Get Smart
Lois and Clark
X-Files
Three's Company
Just to name a few. Though X-Files and Three's Company are debatable since they weren't cancelled or ended due to the characters releasing their sexual tension with each other, but... the drive utilizing the sexual tension was still there. You were always asking yourself or thinking, "Will they or won't they"
I would imagine, since the sexual attraction isn't physically possible between a vehicle and a human, Knight Rider will have to go for more Platonic attraction between the two.
Of course this is all assuming that the rumor you heard of a female AI is true!
Anyways,... we'll all have to just wait and see what comes about. It may be absolutely horrible, but than again... it may be the next Battlestar Galactica!!!
