What happens to all the film sets once filming has stopped?!

Question: In the days when all the sets where made and not computer generated, what happened to them after filming?

Answers: In the days when all the sets where made and not computer generated, what happened to them after filming?

The King Kong film set was burned in the making of Gone with The Wind. It represented Atlanta.

They use them again and again
when you go on the tour in universal studios they shows you it all
bruce almighty was filmed ont he same set as pirates of the carribean in the port!
Its so cool its permanately there and they re use it.

They usually tear them down and store them for future use.

it depends whether there are going to be sequels.
Pirates of the Caribbean sets where reused when characters revisited the place!!!

Many of the film sets are in fact destroyed. The props tend to be the only things that generally survive after filming.

If sequels are made sets tend to either be rebuilt using new materials or simply re-generated via special effects.

However if you refer to 'lots' then these do survive and are reused from sci-fi movies to westerns!!
