Sex in movies?!

Question: Are actors really having sex during scenes in movies? or is it superimposed? And if they are going at it, how does that work?

good question

I wonder as well...lol.

In most major movies--actually, most movies--is just acting, no real sex. They have the actors semi-naked (with skin colored undies) and do strategic positions so it looks like it. If there's actual nudity and close-ups that the actor is not comfy with, then they'll use a body double.

But there are very few and rare movies, usually independent ones, that have actual sex. They don't show penetration or anything like that (or try not to) so it's still considered a movie. They do it to capture the real emotions that they went through.

Having real sex in a movie does not make it a porn.

I think they have fill ins and don't do it on screen themselfs, kind of like the stunt doubles that they have to do things that are too hard for them to do

They aren't really having sex. There was one art film made in Canada around last year, "Shortbus," involving Sook-Yin Lee having actual sex instead of simulated sex for the sex scene... It was hugely controversial, because of how unusual and taboo this is in any film aside from pornography.

I'm guessing it's been done in the ocassional B-movie that nobody pays attention to, as well. But in general, and especially in Hollywood, it's all faked!

If they dont get stand-ins for them, they wear nude color leotard things. and they just simulate it

no.. they do not really have sex on movies.. they use plaster like real plaster tape.. you cannot see it because its transparent.. some even use a cup shaped like a brief or the athelet's protection cup.. sex and the city stars use that..

If you think that actors are really going at it in movies, you are very naive. They even fake it sometimes in porn (which is the only type of film where the actors actually do have sex).

Basically, it's all done with camera angles. What you don't see is usually covered up on set. For example, if they want to get fairly graphic, you will see the woman get undressed, and you may even see full frontal (although in America, that's rare), but, then there will be a camera angle change, and in that shot, the woman will generally have something covering her privates. And the guy will have what they call a "sock" coving him. Then, they pretend to go at it, but in reality, aren't coming anywhere close to each other.

Movies are all about tricks and illusion. Never believe what you see is real. It very rarely is.

Why don't you ask them.

Simulated.

No. If they were really having sex in the movie it would have to be classified as a porno, no matter how much you do or don't see. What they will usually do is have the actors wear clear underwear (only on the bottom. they usually will really have bare chests) so their "thingies" aren't really touching skin to skin. The front part of the underwear will cover them, just the butt area is clear so they look naked. Then they will re-touch everything on computers to make their skin look smooth and the "fake" underwear unnoticable. I don't remember where I heard this but it's true. That's the case for most movies, however some (more lower budget films) may have them really naked, just not actually touching, etc. There are many different methods for filming a sex scene but the one above is the most commom. Hope it helped. Oh and I'm saying this is just the case (as far as I know) in the US. Other countries might have actual sex scenes (Bollywood)

No. 99 percent of the time they fake it, by making simulated movements that make it look like they are. There have been some little scandals at times though, such as Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood really doing it in a music video, but they denied it. Sometimes also the actor is courageous enough to actually do it, like Chloe Sevigny in a scene of hers, where she actually gave someone oral sex.
