E.T. and titanic. But a walk to remember made me cry the most. oh- and the thornbirds! that is the BEST movie ever!!!!!

Brian's Song (1971 TV movie)

Everyone seems to cry over this movie, even many males, or so I'm led to believe by all of the mentions it receives on TV and in movies. I don't cry over movies very often, but this one gets to me every time~though not the remake. The original is the best, and that score by Michel Legrand (of "Love Story" fame) is so wonderful! The theme song~both the instrumental version and with words~was extremely popular and likely still would be recognized by many people.

Wow! The theme song has its own Wikipedia page!
The musical theme to Brian's Song, "The Hands of Time," was a popular tune during the early 1970s. The music for the film was by Michel Legrand, with lyrics to the song by Marilyn and Alan Bergman. Nashville pianist Floyd Cramer performed a popular version of "The Hands of Time".

IMDB summary:
"Gale Sayers (Billy Dee Williams) joins the Chicago Bears and is befriended by Brian Piccolo (James Caan), an over-achieving running back. Although they compete for the same spot on the team, and despite the fact that Sayers is black and Piccolo white, they become roommates on the road and very close friends, especially when Sayers is injured and Piccolo helps his recovery. Later, they and their wives (Judy Pace and Shelley Fabares) must both deal with the harsh reality of Piccolo's cancer."

I don't know if it's the saddest movie ever but Million Dollar Baby definitely takes a weird left turn. Not what I expected.

The Passion of the Christ. I had to stop it several times to compose myself.

Terms of Endearment....when Debra Wingers character is dying in the hospital and her mom, played by Shirley MacLean freaks out at the nursing station because her daughter needs pain meds I lose it.

Lets not 4get the titanic!and flight 99.or was it 94?And the film "Water". Yeah,Pan's labyrinth too.

Angela,s Ashes.
It is so sad it depresses me for days !

In Love and War based on Ernest Hemmingway. I love Ernest Hemmingway as a writer and when his writing becomes darker in his late 20...you finally know the reason why. It breaks my heart that he let his pride ruin a chance for 2nd love. I balled like a baby the first time I saw it.

The World According to Garp and Forest Gump.

Last Night(1997), and Miracle Mile(1988). Also On the Beach(1959). All end of the world stories, with a different slant. All well-told, and beautifully performed. I'd look at Miracle Mile, first, then Last Night.
