Answers: not like that now holiday camps .need to bring back some disipline in the borstals[y.o.i.]

wow, my very first date took me to see this film and i was kinda disturbed about the violence in the film, i would never watch it again, it's way too violent for me....

Very shocking to a young person I would think

It is a great film of it"s generation. It launched Ray Winston onhis career.

Borstal days. I've only known one person who went to borstal (years ago) he said its bad but not as seen in the film

Caused quite a stir in it's day.

i thought it was a good movie.....am the DADDY......

Incredible portrayal of the brutal fascistic officers in charge..a microcosm of society which criminalises rathe rthan nurtures. Look at the latest legislation over speeding..pretty soon the NWO will have us all tagged, monitored and buyong thier version of what's really happening..or mayeb we already are!! so...2 minutes silence for our departed friend!

I saw it when I was 12 and have never wanted to see it again. The bit when he slit his wrist in bed always makes me want to puke.

It was a violent film for its time but still a good film Ray Winstone is a brilliant actor, I think films today are more violent

i liked it,cool film, violent but cool, and ray winston is yummy!

i love that film it is one of my favourites,it was on last night on sky

Just a brilliant film, quite brutal in places but crucial to the story and what an original story it is.

Look what stars it gave us such as Ray Winstone, a very under rated actor and he should be up there picking up Oscars rather than people like Tom Cruise.

It's a film that could easily be a remake but i hope they don't. it will be watered down in todays 'cotton wool' society and simply not have the impact of the original.

If anyone hasn't seen this film, you simply MUST.

Snooker ball in a sock? Oh yeah!

Hi my husband likes it, I have never seen it up until now my husband saw it when he was younger and said it was a good flim, he was watching it a few days weeks ago as he has the dvd, but I caught glimpses of it and I didnt like it very much, very violent and its disgusting what happens to that young boy when they all start having a go on him it goes on for ages to, its just horrid how can anyone sit there and watch it, Yuk,
and when he slits his wrist.

I dont like most english films to tell you the truth, the funny ones are not that good, and the crime and other ones are just overly violent, I would prefer not to see what goes on, than have it acted out in front of me on the telly.

So no I dont like it and I dont think I want to see it again, its also the same with Green Streets for me as well

I didn't like it at all.

Don't let em upset you Bex...

Dr bad
i'm the Baddy

what they did was exactly that "SCUM",but overall it was a well made movie that shocked even me when i watched it the first time.

I LOVE that film, It's horrible when the young guy gets raped though, but hey life is like that, no matter how disturbing the film is, it's true to life!

PMSL Doc!

prison its meant to be easy

Disturbing. And it made me revise my 'lock-em-up' opinion about naughty boys.

i thought it was a very good film

Amazing film - so many moments from it instantly spring to mind when you hear the title 'Scum' - The bit i find acutely disturbing is when the lad slits his wrists under the covers...you can almost feel it - seen it dozens of times - love it
