i don't think he plans on making another halloween movie. from what i've heard the next movie he will be making is not going to be a horror film.

This was a one time thing with no plans for a sequel. That is why he changed the ending. They almost didn't make it because they wanted the perfect script.
As far as the DVD is concerned, they might be a place to buy it as a download on the Internet, but the actual DVD doesn't come out until Jan. or Feb.
