I think Cate Blanchett is a great actor. She really lights up the screen, no matter what character she is playing. I guess years ago men and boys played the female roles as well as the male, so why not, if she can pull it off. Yes, she is not the only one playing Bob Dylan in the film (Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere etc. as per article below, which gives an account of the thinking behind the casting of Cate Blanchett). I think the article is right - the picture of Cate as Bob Dylan is convincing. Interesting question.
