If your butt falls asleep in the middle of the movie, it's an epic.
If it's sunny outside when you enter the movie theater and dark outside when you leave, it's an epic.
it depends on how "grand" the production is AND how well it does both at the box office and the Academy Awards
if it is a big, expensive picture to produce and it does well, it usually gets labelled as an "epic" movie or film
If you stop drinking fluids a couple hours before going to see the movie so you don't have to get up and pee, it's epic.
if it can make the elderly happy and not complain-its an epic.
