No, i think that is the little boys voice. He acts that part with the depth of an adult actor. The movie is good, i like the scene where you see the bed-ridden sister(freaky), but really, if you want the full effect of this story you must read the book. It will make your flesh creep. Stephen King is a master storyteller, seems there is a snobbery attached to his works by the literature set.
