Jacob's Ladder is haunting.
Crouching Tigers is painful (Zhang Ziyi)
Life Is Beautiful's (though you dont see him die) is remarkable as well.
I also feel like I have to add 12 Monkeys, for one of the most bizarre death scenes, if you have seen it, then you know why.

Maybe it's not the best but all I could remember for now is The Godfather, the part where Lucca Brassi was strangled to death, and of course the death of the Don himself..

Wow, there are so many good ones. However, the one that immediately popped in my mind was when Isabelle 2 died in Legends of the Fall. Oh my, I well up just thinking about it.

The king of movie death scenes is Samuel L. Jackson, who dies memorably in many of his movies. My favorite of his is the surprising, convention-tweaking death scene in that shark movie, Deep Blue Sea. Really shocking and scary and fun.
