Answers: Halloween
Friday the 13th
A nightmare on Elm Street
Creature from the Black lagoon
Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein
The Thing( The remake)

HALLOWEEN

Halloween because it was scary.

John Carpenter's "The Thing"

That one was probably the best I liked out of all those. Halloween was pretty scary and entertaining.

friday the 13

A Nightmare On Elm Street just because Freddy Kruger was so funny in the movies...

Actually, I like all of them though I'm not too crazy about "Friday the 13th". Preference is in this order:
Halloween (original)

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Creature from the Black Lagoon

Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein~How on Earth did this end up on the list? It's the proverbial sore thumb, wouldn't you say?

The Thing~I prefer the original because the remake's SFX have suffered with age. There are many more John Carpenter films I like more; "Halloween" (the original), "The Fog" (original), "Escape from New York" and "Big Trouble in Little China" are better. It ends up an awfully bloody mess to me. Maybe someone will get the story right someday.

Friday the 13th~It's just butchery without much purpose, and it's rather nasty to see Betsy Palmer used that way. Also, if Jason is the drowned boy, who's the hulking slasher? I definitely am not into this series of films.

The remake of "The Thing" actually is the re-remake since it originally was released in 1951 as "The Thing from Another World". Carpenter remade it as "The Thing". I'll bet they still won't get the original story to the screen, and it's by far the best of all. The two movies are extremely loosely based on John W. Campbell, Jr.'s novella titled "Who Goes There?". I've read it many times, wondering why Carpenter didn't do a better job of translating it to the screen.

Halloween
Friday the 13th
A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Thing (the original)

Halloween

only Halloween

I enjoyed all of them. once.

never seen he Abbot and Costello one but liked the rest evenly.

Nightmare on Elm Street may slide to the front simply because little kids singing songs like that... just plain creepy.

"One, Two... Freddys coming for you...."
