Star wars episide 4-6..?!

Question: I know 1-3 were created a few years ago, and I recently saw them, and when I heard that 4-6 were made in the 70's just dissappointed me. I really, strongly, do not like older movies. The acting isn't as good, the graphics, visual and sound effects, are all very poor. So I just want to know if anyone knows if they plan, at all, on re-making episodes 4-6?

They've 'digitally remastered' them, but i think that's all that they will do, for the time being anyway

Episodes 4-6 were so much better than 1-3. The special effects were worse, but everything else was better. I'd definitely recommend you watch the older versions. They're classics for a reason.

George Lucas had better not redo them. They would only end up worse.

Uh, no. Why would they do that? The older movies are the way they are. No need to "re-make" them.

No, George Lucas has said he won't remake them.
However, you are crazy.
Those original movies were way better than 1-3.
They are the very reason there were episodes 1-3.

Actually my step dad loves Star Wars and I watched a documentary on the making of the originals as well as the originals with him. You might be surprised by how good those movies are. Many people would argue the Star Wars Trilogy is the best Sci-Fi series of all time.

Here is my suggestion: Get the Special Edition versions of the first three. They are not remakes, but have been remastered with added scenes and digital CG enhancements. I've never actually seen the "original" versions, but the discs my dad has have them as well.

They already redid them with small changes in the mid 1990s.

If Lucas remade Star Wars 4-6, I would personally grab my lightsaber and cut him in half. I think he knows that, and so will not be doing that.

Heck, the new released versions dealt with the visual/audio that the old ones didn't have. But the acting and characters were far better. In fact, many older movies have fantastic acting, the same as or better than today's films. I generally find that as graphics get better, and films try to be flashier, they tend to get a little lax on the acting side.

Have you watched 4-6 yet? Did you have an opinion about them before you heard they were older movies? The date at which a movie is made should not decide if it's good or not, just the quality of the entertainment it provides.

It may look old and crappy now, but back then it was big......really big. Star Wars was everywhere, toys, soft drink, stationary...........I wanted to be a Jedi knight, and X-wing fighter was my X'mas wish.
However, to me, the way they made it is still better the EP 1 to 3. Put aside all the expensive CG.
No information on remaking EP 4 to 6, I don't think anyone is up for it, to remake classic.

4-6 were classics, though I loved the action in 1-3.

George Lucas said that he would not make any more Star Wars movies. Period. The only new Star Wars films would be the new tv show.

I disagree. I infinitely prefer the original trilogy because it is about good writing, acting and direction more than crazy special effects. Alec Guinness's understated Ben Kenobi is a million times better than Ewan McGreggor, and while I will admit Luke Skywalker is annoying at times, he's still better than the bumbling attempts of Hayden Christiansen or the kid from episode 1. Sometimes it's best to leave the classics alone. I suggest you watch the South Park episode that takes on this question. And no, there are no plans to remake episodes 4-6.
