What type of film do you like and why?!

Question: i like all types of movies, it really depends on what mood im in!
i love really emotional movies like armagedon, titanic and tristan and isolde, they always make me cry like a baby but i love them!
i prefer movies with a good ending, but all the really good ones that stay with me longer have sad endings, i think those are really powerful and would watch those over and over even though i would feel horrible for days afterwoods! city of angels is an all time fav for me; im a sucker for romance!
comedy movies are also great for a good laugh; mostly i prefer romantic comedies....and some action films are really good as well.
i dont really like horror though...they all have the same basic story structure; u know who the bad guy is and who will survive right from the start; horror's dont really scare me so...not a big fan. i didnt really mind hostel though, not because of the story-line, but because there's never been a horror film written like that before [not that i know of anyway...]

so i guess i really dont have a specific type of film i like afterall... if i would really havta pick one...it would most prob. be romantic tragedies...those move me the most and leaves a deeper impression in me.

Action/comedy

because i like to laugh!
lol

sci fi i like all the fancy gadgets and ships

I love Independent films because they're so unique and original.

Scary/Horror.....................Why not?

romance and comedy

cos i lyk it....especially john tucker must die

I know what I don't like - Science Fiction, Horror, or Romance - otherwise, I'll watch just about anything.

Favourite Film : Shawshank Redemption
Worst Film : JFK

I love, love love independent cinema: films like Lola Rennt (I believe in English it's called Lola's Run) or Bagdad Cafe. Films that speak to different people in different ways. I love to watch them and then ask the person who watched it with me, "So, what did you see?" The coffee and conversation afterward is often rich and rewarding.

Aside from that, I love French comedies. The ones that are hysterically funny but when you try to tell someone who hasn't seen the film, it kind of makes no sense.

Disney and other American production cos tend to buy the rights to many good French comedies and make mediocre American ones, like "Three Men and a Baby" and that film about the Amazonian native in NYC. The original French versions are much, much better.

I think Spanish films tend to be really well written and acted (Examples: Princesas, Tu Vida en 65).

Horror for the scares, comedies because they make me laugh (The Ring, Simpsons Movie, Borat)

British gritty films because they're not all glamour and fame (Purely Belter, Trainspotting)

And cartoons for sheer escapism (Yellow Submarine, Interstella 5555, Akira)

When i was a kid,my parents use to let me stay up and watch The Horror Double Bill on BBC2 in the 70's,they would show the old classics like The Bride Of Frankinstein,or Dracula.

Then video came along, and everything changed,in the 80's i liked films like A Nightmare On Elm Street, and The Evil Dead,I use to read Fangoria magazine, and find out how they created all those amazing special effects, and transformations, like the one in American Werewolf In London.

Now i'm in my 30's,I still enjoy watching good horror flicks & ScFi,films like The Ring,The Grudge, and the remake of War Of The Worlds was cool, and with CGI nowdays, special effects are on a whole new level.

Good Sci-Fi like Star Trek movies. Action movies with underdog storylines but not gross violence, but violence in relation to a good storyline is okay. Movies that have a lot of excellent actors together like "Con-Air", and "Die Hard" the first one. Almost any movie with Tommy Lee Jones are well done.

Comedy and Drama. Because I love laughing but I love serious stuff even more.
