I'm trying to find a very old movie about a stream/lake and anyone that drin!

Question: will live forever. I'm not sure if this is exactly how it went since it has been over 10 years since I last saw the movie, but I remember even plants and animals would be hundreds of years old just because of the water in this certain stream/lake. The movie focuses on a family that moves into this cabin in the woods near the stream/lake. Anyone have any clue what movie I could be talking about? I need a title so I can rent it or look it up online and possibly buy it...

"Tuck Everlasting" was filmed before the version most of you remember. It doesn't have a big-name cast, and I actually think it's better than the remake~far better and more melancholy.

Tuck Everlasting (1981)
INDB summary:
n turn-of-the-20th-century upstate New York, Winnie Foster, a 12-year-old girl, discovers a family living in the woods near her family's home who never ages thanks to a magical spring they drink from and she is entrusted to keep their secret and becomes involved in their lives.

CAST (partial):
Margaret Chamberlain as Winne Foster
Fred A. Keller as Angus Tuck~~also co-wrote script!
Paul Flessa as Jesse Tuck
Sonia Raimi as Mae Tuck
James McGuire as Man in Yellow Suit

The film was remade in 2002, starring Alexis Biedel and Jonathan Jackson.

I'm not sure if anyone filmed the story earlier under another name, and I don't recall a movie that far back with that storyline. "The Spring" (2000 TV movie) is about a pool that only needs to be bathed in and drunk from to bestow etermal life:

IMDB summary:
Single father Dennis Conway is travelling with his son Nick. They stop in a small town where Nick has an accident and has to spend some time in the hospital. While Nick is hospitalized his father falls for the nurse who gives up the town's secret~a spring that has healing powers and is virtually a fountain of youth.

By the way, Natalie Babbitt's "Tuck Everlasting" was published in 1975, so there could be a movie inspired by it in the Seventies.

I'll keep looking to see what else I can find. I've been trying to think of any Fountain of Youth-type movies but haven't had any luck with the Sixties and Seventies.

Is it...Tuck Everlasting?

I think Tuck Everlasting is right. It's REALLY OLD!!
