GET SMART TV series (and movie)
The nemesis of CONTROL is KAOS (pronounced chaos), and KAOS's Vice President of Public Relations and Terror, Siegfried (Bernie Kopell), shows up often as Maxwell Smart's foe, or would-be assassin. Though on opposite sides, Max and Siegfried click personally, and speak fondly of one another—even when trying to kill each other. Despite being capitalized, CONTROL and KAOS are not acronyms and do not stand for anything.

THE AVENGERS TV series
Comedy was also evident in the names/acronyms of the organizations Steed and Peel encountered. In The Living Dead, two duelling groups examine reported ghost sightings: FOG (Friends Of Ghosts) and SMOG (Scientific Measurement Of Ghosts). The Hidden Tiger features the Philanthropic Union for Rescue, Relief and Recuperation of Cats — PURRR — led by folk named Cheshire, Manx, and Angora.

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. TV series/movies:
The show revolved around a fictional secret international law-enforcement agency, the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement; it was engaged in a constant struggle against a vast organization known as THRUSH (originally named WASP in the series pilot movie) . Originally the acronym for Thrush was never explained, but in several of the U.N.C.L.E. novels written by David McDaniel it was explained to mean Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity, and remains exclusive to the paperbacks and not the series itself.

NOTE: THRUSH and Thrush are used interchangeably in the series, the films created from two-parters, and the novels and other printed material.

LANCELOT LINK, SECRET CHIMP TV series

JAMES BOND
WOW! There was a real SMERSH! Check out this information, then visit both sites!
From Wikipedia:
SMERSH as a separate strategic entity was discontinued in 1946. Although it existed only three years as an independent official directorate, its notorious clandestine history in previous years and into the early cold war were made into works of fiction. The most notable example is Ian Fleming's SMERSH, a nemesis of James Bond. However, in most of the later film adaptations the independent criminal organization SPECTRE was substituted to avoid the connotation of fomenting hate for the Soviet Union and contributing to a destabilization of relations with that nation. SMERSH is mentioned in the early Bond film From Russia with Love, but doesn't play an active role in the plot. A masquerading reactivation of SMERSH appears in Timothy Dalton's first Bond film, The Living Daylights. It is also briefly mentioned in No One Lives Forever and figures in the 1967 Bond spoof Casino Royale.
