How do movie producers make money?!

They make money if the movie makes money. They spend a lot on making the movie, in hopes to get it all back in the theaters and/or when the DVD is released.
they get paid to produce the movie, the total spent on the movie includes everyone they pay to do the movie
i think its by selling the movie cds and stuff.
They hire advertisers for product placement and to back the movie financially in exchange. They also have excellent agents and lawyers who help them get as much as they can out of the deal and any resulting gross from the film. It's all law and politics, unfortunately.
They get a percentage of the take, which is why a lot is produced..
You have varying degrees of success, so you need two or three solid money-makers to offset that expensive turkey
They invest money to produce the film. And when it's released they see a return from box office totals and marketing collateral.
See it this way, Producers are business men, they create a product (the movie, the expenses-actors fat paychecks etc..) they pack it (advertising, actors promoting the movie, film festivals..etc) then they sell it (showing it in theaters, DVDs, TV stations etc..)
1-create the product
2-making it look good (packing)
3-selling it.
et voila!!!
