Why are they unable to make a good Alice in Wonderland movie?!

Question: C'mon! I love the books, they are great. I know it is about Carroll's contemporary world and they are trying to adjust the films to our time, but it is complete crap! Nothing to do with the book! I don't know any single movie version which would be at least acceptable!!!

I heard that there is going to be a remake with Tim Burton directing. Could be interesting!

Yeah you're right. The version i watched on Hallmark was completely camel poop but that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep our fingers crossed.

Its because you love the books that the movie doesn't work for you. You already have a pre-conceived idea of how it should all be from your own imagination, and someone else's interpretation of how it should be presented will never compare.

Are you Alice from Alice in Wonderland?

You should stick with the books, Movies of books are never very good.

Here's one for your collection:
Alice in Sunderland. They're supposed to be bringing out a movie of this one soon, with Kelly Osbourne as Alice

They have made several wonderful versions. I know because I have seen them. Here's one person who is pleased with what films we have been given.

Have you seen the production with Kate and Richard Burton? The backgrounds use the Tenniel illustrations.

Did you see the TV miniseries starring Natalie Gregory? The production covered "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice Through the Looking Glass".

I came back because I had to mention the 1933 movie that stars Charlotte Henry as Alice. Especially memorable is Gary Cooper as the White Knight.

There have been some arty approaches to the story, too. Then, there's the Disney version. Perhaps with all of the capabilities they have now, a detailed film could be attempted.

In closing, I will state again that I enjoy and appreciate the interpretations of Lewis Carroll's work.

Lack of a decent audience.

Ever check out how many of these people barely fit into Yukon's at Burger King and McDonald's these days? I'm serious...your point is well taken..these classics are great, but to more than the obese 30 percent of your audience in question, major revolutionary literature evolves with the changing of the breakfast menu @ mid-morning for lunch.

Good question

Your prayers are about to be answered! Tim Burton is directing a new Alice In Wonderland movie as we speak. And if anyone can make it, he can. Watch this space...!

Which version do you mean that ahs been made in the contemporary world?

I agree that they should pull their finger out and make a proper version, and none of the Disney-fied crap that seems to be made. It should be as twisted and drug fuelled as the book is.

Oh my God I'm freakin out, I always wanted Tim Burton to do Alice in Wonderland, its a great story and it could be an amazing film too!

Maybe because Alice is over 100 years old now and is too damn tired of continuously falling into the hole then having to find a way out.
