Why are the Harry Potter movies so big???!
Question: I'm a HUUUUGE fan of the books!!
But the films... They're just terrible!
EVEN IF the books hadn't existed, they're horrible to watch... as in borring, and badly made, poorly acted..etc...
Pleeaase tell me i'm not the only one who thinks this?
I just cannot understand why they're such big movies!

i totally get you(i think)!!!
I'm an avid reader of the H.P. series and the movies they made are not even passable as summaries of the actual book story!. Its so depressingly bland and not even an inch as magical and great as to what I imagined it to be. Then there are errors in the characters' dress color, eye color, hair color...I mean, that's just so disturbing when they don't actually follow the book 'cause it doesn't EQUAL nor do justice to Rowling's legendary skills.
Great for the non-readers 'cause they just enjoy the "camera tricks", "enchanting characters and creatures", "the spells and incantations/terms;
aloha Mora,win guardian leviosa, stupefy, expecto petronum, avada kedavra, veritaserum, reparo! and all others... (I'm not so sure with the spellings)
...and a "part" of the real story of Harry Potter. I guess the movies become so big because, to start with, the books are just too great that readers would really anticipate in seeing the actual interpretation of the book...but sadly, most of the time, book-readers of H.P. goes home from the theater very disappointed.
Because people are simple, never watched or bought anything from harry. I invest my money.
They grab the attention of kids! I think you are wrong in your assessment. I have not found them to be boring, badly made or poorly acted.
Because the films are given a boost because of the Books which are hugely popular.
People who have read the books want to see the film to relate their imagination with what is shown in the film.
Even people think actors of films as the real characters in the book and relate to them when they read the books, hence they would want to see them in movies.
I've really really tried to read the books but i just couldn't grasp it. I totally argree with you - the films are so crap, i know from experience with Stephen King books, the films made from them didn't do the book justice at all. It really is pointless
Could be your imagination is better than the movie Directors of Harry Potter. If possible you could try to make one of the movies and show us how you would like us to see Harry Potter. Sometimes our imagination is so greaaaaaaat that we see exactly what the author is trying so hard to describe so vividly in this case Rowling. Who knows you might be a better Director right?

in our neighbourhood you do this kind and people start beating the hell out of u !!! get a life and start reading manga instead . there a whole lot better naruto can kick harry out of hogwarts anytime he likes hhahaha!!!!!!!!

Well, because the books were so successful, people just flocked to the theaters to see if the books could be brought to life in the movies.
Unfortunately, they weren't.
HP And the Order of the Phoenix was by far the worst movie of them all. Too much of the good stuff that was in the book was left out of the movie. Yet, this movie was one of the highest grossing movies in 2007.
But now that there are so many HP fans, they will go out and see the last two movies, regardless of how poorly they're made.
And I have no doubt that they'll be poorly done because so many people are hooked now and so not much effort will go into making them spectacular.
only one i didnt like so far was Goblet
at least all the others covered their books enouhg.
