This has been my favorite film for nearly 40 years. No other film has bumped it from the No. 1 position on my favorites list. Everything is perfect about it: the acting, costumes, music by Nino Rota, cinematography, direction by Franco Zefferelli, and settings. It's as if a medieval tapestry has been brought to life. I have seen it innumerable times and shall watch it many more times.
