Answers: At the end of the movie where Rose is sleeping, did she die in her sleep or is she sleeping???? I have always wondered that for a long time.

At the age of 84, she died peacefully in her sleep, just as Jack had told her that she would. In the afterlife, she found herself back on the Titanic with her beloved Jack and all the other passengers and crew that died that fateful night.

...she didnt die....

She died in her sleep. THere is a part of the movie that jack says to her " your not going to die like this, your going to die an old lady, warm in her bed" and that is how they ended it.

I thought she died in her sleep. Right after she told her story, she died in her sleep and got reunited with Jack.

I think she died. Then she goes to her 'heaven' where whats-his-face and everyone else is waiting for her.

she didn't die at the end of the movie but the titanic sank many years ago so all the survivors are probably dead.
The "heaven" was a dream.

Man about 10 years ago this was probably the most discussed question in the world.

If only I cared enough to ponder it.

I think it's ambiguous on purpose, so people can decide for themselves. It can go either way.

She definitely died in the end. When the camera takes on a "first person" sequence at the end of the movie, and travells through the boat as it was, with all the people on it, and jack on the staircase waiting for her, its a metaphor that all that perished are back together again. Very touching moment in film making if you ask me. I'm a guy and I get choked up every time - we can never forget that this was real, not just a good movie.

Yes she died.
