How com in every stephen king movie a black person is the first to die?!

Question: Theres always like a 10:1 ratio of whites to blacks in his movies yet the black people always die first. Is there a reason for this? Is it just me or did nobody else realize this?

Because in real life that would happen.

Sorry I never noticed it and I have got all of his movies.

umm not all of his books do that maybe one or two.

Not in The Shining.

Even though i think it is very wrong, I have not read one of his books that didnt have the "N" word in it. It may be possible he is writing from a racist view

... not in the mist

Strange, but it must be coincidence. Most of the films had very little input from him. 'Christine's auto factory sequence wasn't in the book, and in the book 'The Shining' Hallorann survives.

By the way, no black people die in the film 'Misery'. 'It' I can't recall, but Mike Hanlon (the main black character) does reach the end credits alive. In 'The Stand' 99.4% of humanity is wiped out before Abigail goes.

I'm not sure...
What movies are you talking about?
I haven't watched all the movies, but I read a lot of his books. One of his books that's a movie is "Carrie", and a black guy does not die first. Neither in the book "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon".

Personally, Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. He's not my most favorite, because I don't have any. I just like him best for horror books.

But if you really feel this is an issue. May you give us answerers out here several examples (I'd prefer five).

"The Shining"
"The Stand"
"The Mist"
"The Langoliers"
"Cujo"

I don't recall a black person being the first to die in those movies. However, it's become a stereotypical thing to joke about in horror movies, in general, that a black person will be the first to die (even if it's not true more than half the time).

To put someone straight. Stephen King isnt racist. When he writes his books he doesnt always say outright who is "black" and who is "white". He leaves that for the constant reader to decide in their mind. When the movies are made he doesnt pick the cast so he doesnt have a choice on what colour the actors going to be. Plus theres plenty of films where "white" people are the first to day. But then of course it cant be racist then to kill a white person. Go and read some of his books - i think you will appreciate them more than the films.

I guarantee you will not find a stephen king book without the word "******" or some other colorful use of that word in it.
