What is the name of the war movie with the runners. The one guy dies at the end !
Question: The one runner guy runs back to HQ to ask if they should keep charging while his buddy (the other runner) stays back and is going to go on the next charge unless they hear back to stop charging. The first messenger guy is told to tell them to stop charging but he has to run back a real long way without much time (like 3 minute miles or something ridiculous)...so he takes off running and doesn't make it back in time and his buddy is leading the charge that he couldn't stop and gets lit up....I don't know the title of the movie though. Anyone help me out?

This is an anti-war film that certainly packs a hard punch! That race against time is so agonizing and painfully sad. Those images truly are burned in my brain, especially when he hears the gunfire that he knows means the death of his friends.
I believe this is the first film that I saw Mel Gibson in, and he does stand out more than Mark Lee, who did go on to appear in other Aussie films.
