Alien vs. Predator (See below since this actually isn't a true sequel.)
These films make up the Alien Tetralogy: "Alien" (1979), "Aliens" (1986), "Alien 3" (1992), and "Alien Resurrection" (1997). If there ever is a stand-alone "Alien" film released later, I suppose it would be called a series. I don't know if a five-film cycle has a name.
"Alien vs. Predator" (2004) is considered a series all its own, arising from the Dark Horse comic series, especially now that it will be joined by "Alien vs. Predator 2: Requiem" (2007)~~December 25 to be exact! Gosh! It's almost like a birthday present!
Then, there's "Predator" (1987) and "Predator 2" (1990) of course.
So, actually, there are three series, one of them being a crossover. 20th Century Fox chose widely back in the Seventies when they decided to go with science fiction as much as possible!

Alien vs Predator (2004) Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
Alien came out in 1979 followed by

there is also an AVP_R coming out on Christmas i think? It is called Aliens v. Predators Requiem, its about the AVP movie at the end where the Predator had a baby Alien inside him, and now i guess this half Alien/Predator is on the loose in some city on Earth and the Predators have to stop it before it destroys Earth or something.
