I suggest Cinderella, an Asian Horror movie.
'The Others' with Nichole Kidman, 'The Skeleton Key', and of course, 'The Ring.'
The Amityville Horror Movies are about ghosts as well.
well im not too sure on how gory they are, iv watched them throughout this year, and they're all good:
Scream
The grudge 2 (come on!! its good!!)
dead end
haloween camp (gory, though)
Jeepers creepers
Jeepers creepers 2 (both are a-maz-ing films!! i think they have a little gore but for the night after i watched them i had to sleep with the light on, they were really scary!!! i thought the guy was gonna come get me!)
28 WEEKS later (and 28 days, but weeks is better. There's a bit of gore as people are bitten, but it's mainly great stuff)
