What was some of your favorite songs growing up?!

Question: Wow! That amounts to far too much music, even if there's a cutoff point of, say, 18-19. The Fifties and Sixties are so packed full of hits from all kinds of artists. The radio could play forever, and it all would be wonderful! And, practically everyone loved it. We didn't have separate stations because everyone was listening to everything.

Songs and artists I especially loved won't be in any certain order~just how they occur to me. Occasionally, a group would and the lead singer's name in front of the group's name:
Beatles
Dave Clark Five
Buckinghams
Mary Hopkin
Donovan
Steppenwolf
Peter & Gordon
Chad & Jeremy
Kinks
Iron Butterfly
Hollies
Joan Baez
Judy Collins
Crosby, Stills & Nash
The Who
T Rex
Herman's Hermits
Paul Revere & the Raiders
Grass Roots
Sugarloaf
Keith
Innocence
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Big Brother & the Holding Company~Janis Joplin
Four Seasons~Frankie Valli
Marty Robbins~Ballads were very popular, and he hadn't moved to the C&W sound yet. It still was the pops chart.
Leslie Gore
Lemon Pipers
Young Rascals
There were many girl groups~Chiffons, Ronettes, Murmaids, etc.

Thinking of separate songs is really difficult because I have so many favorites!
Time in a Bottle~Jim Croce
Crimson & Clover~Tommy James & The Shondells
Incense & Peppermints~Strawberry Alarm Clock
Foxy Lady~Jimi Hendrix
Purple Haze~Jimi Hendrix
Black Magic Woman~Santana
Take a Message to Mary~Everly Brothers
Devoted to You~Everly Brothers
Wake Up, Little Susie~Everly Brothers
Woodstock~Matthew's Southern Comfort
For What It's Worth~Buffalo Springfield
White Rabbit~Jefferson Airplane
If You Could Only Be Me~Spanky & Our Gang
Different Drummer~Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt
Red Rubber Ball~The Cyrkle
Paint It Black~The Rolling Stones
Hand Me Down World~Guess Who
Undun~Guess Who
The Battle of New Orleans~Johnny Horton
Honeycomb~Jimmie Rodgers
Valley of the Moon~Marvin Rainwater
The Happening~Diana Ross & The Supremes
People Are Strange~The Doors
Light My Fire~The Doors
Dead Man's Curve~Jan & Dean
Wipeout
Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow
Next Door to an Angel
Since I Don't Have You
Young Girl~Union Gap
Woman~Union Gap
This Girl Is a Woman Now~Union Gap
Deep Purple (not the group!)
Sleepwalk (instrumental)
House of the Rising Sun
San Francisco (Flowers in Your Hair)
The Rain, the Park & Other Things~The Cowsills
Green Tambourine~Lemon Pipers
Mr. Tambourine Man~The Byrds
Turn, Turn, Turn~The Byrds

Gosh! I scarcely know where to take this list because I lived through two decades full of the most amazing music that can't be shown with a list a hundred times this length. I couldn't even list the quantity of artists that I still have singles and LPs of; I've never parted with them.

Maybe I'll come back and add some songs.
