Each movie has some sort of police plot.
American History X-the dad was a cop before he was shot in the line of duty.
Witness-Harrison Ford is a cop.
Blade Runner- Harrison ford again is a future cop.
The Big Easy-Dennis Quaid is a cop.
And they all have some sort of illegal activity involved.
i think Harrison Ford played a role in all of them

This may be way off but not knowing exactly why you are asking I'll go out on a limb and give it a shot.
I think they may all be connected by their underlying themes of initial prejudice and eventual understanding. AHX - obvious prejudice against blacks; Witness - prejudice against the Amish; Blade Runner - prejudice against the replicants.
