She didn't seek therapy; her parents put her in the institution. She was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (not bipolar, as someone else said).

The therapy did work, but only when she allowed it to (ie. not acting as though she was as bad off as some of the more disturbed girls in the hospital).

The goal(s) desired were for her to become a "normal" member of society (by not sleeping with married men and acting like a rebellious teenager); in other words, to act like a mature adult.

she was i think phsycotic. which now a days is actuallt pretty normal

She didn't 'seek' therapy -- she was committed to an institution and forced to undergo therapy.

Watch the movie or read the book!

I don't know but Angelina Jolie is so freaking sexy!! :)

You should watch the movie, considering this sounds like I will be doing your homework for you.

The main character suffers from the type of depression called Bi-Polar, and was committed, you should research it.

Thats all I will help you with. Do your own homework.

Um, psychotherapy.
Its debateable in the end, but she thinks so. She talks about her friends and says some never got better, but some did. She grouped herself with those who did. [Not like Lisa and Daisy]
To get her not to kill herself, aka to cope with stressful situations better.

The main character had Borderline Personality Disorder, and voluntarily (although she thought she was forced to) committed herself to an inpatient treatment program.

But you should really read the book.

Jacoby is answering this question.

she is there for boarder line personality disorder.
