I will not watch that movie. One of my family members did some "research" on the movie, and in the movie God (the Creator of the WORLD) dies. That is so dumb. Whoever made that movie is going to die! I know that's harsh but seriously...and plus it looks so dumb!! But Nicole Kidman looked really pretty in the previews.

Its An Adventure film pretty neat for the Graphics, looks good, you gotta see it though to put a view on it,

It doesn't even look or sound like anything I would even be remotely interested in. I think they are trying to stir up some controversy in order to spark interest in their lame movie.

It kinda seems to pull you into its strange little world, no movie has ever done that before. But I don't know if that means its good or not...
I can only go by what i've heard, since I haven't seen it. I don't think I'd take young kids to see it, or even recommend it to someone who is iffy in their faith. But I would like to see it before I totally judge it.

No clue what to think of it. I'm not their targeted audience, so I really dont care.
I think of it as a children movie.
I haven't seen it yet, and I don't really care what "critics" say. It's a work of fiction, and while I may like it (if I ever see it), I certainly wouldn't be viewing it as fact.
Try reading the Northern Lights, retitled The Golden Compass in the US, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass written by Philip Pullman. Far better written than Harry Potter trash.
I also assume by not understanding the Dark Materials trilogy, you are probably American, and that would explain a lot of things...
i had a great expectation from this movie but it wasnt a graet movie at all.atleast for nicole its one of d weak movie
Yeah, I agree too. I wanted to go to it with an open mind, because even though I am a Christian, I do support freedom of speech (I don't want to be silenced any more than the next person does.) However, I found it to be a complete waste of my time. It was boring, the acting was surprisingly poor, the CGI was not really up to par with what I expected, and it just seemed like a huge set-up for the next movie. All-in-all, it came across as an unispired (and uninspiring!) diatribe against the Catholic church. Who wants to sit through an hour and a half of that???
I haven't seen the movie yet, however, I believe that the powers that be are making a to do about nothing. The book has been available for a very long time and, up until recently, no one ever really spoke of the book; now a movie has been made and there seems to be nothing but controversy. Some have gone to the extreme of banning the book in schools etc.
I personally wish to see the film to draw my own conclusion.
I will not let the powers that be determine what I read or watch. Those days are long gone.
People need to remember, it is just a movie made from a book. A book derived from someones imagination.
