Whats the easiest way to become a movie director.?!
Question: The easiest and really ONLY way is to - direct a movie.
Don't "announce" that you're doing this, just do it. There are slews of wannabe directors who spend years telling people that they are "making a movie" and then never get it off the ground. That makes you look like a real putz.
And when you say "direct" and "movie" DO NOT attempt to direct a feature length film before getting experience directing short films. Once you have a dozen or so short films under your belt that are received well by the general public (not your friends and family), THEN think about directing.
1) Find a great script (No, do not write one yourself unless you are an accomplished writer or you have that talent.)
2) Raise money (Family, friends, family of friends, friends of family, dentists, lawyers, doctors, etc.)
3) Hire a producer (Do not attempt to produce a feature film on your own without ever having done this before. You WILL more than likely fail if you do.)
4) Direct movie (Do EVERYthing *for the film*, not for you or your ego. You are not making a film for yourself, you're making a film for an audience. Never forget that.)
