Does anyone else think Superbad, Knocked Up and 40yr Old Virgin are bad movies?!

Question: I found them really poorly written, trying to maintain laughs by using swear words and grossout humour.

sure they had funny parts, but the majority of the movies were just bad

maybe if I was in high school still I'd enjoy them, but I doubt it

I thought "40 Year-old Virgin" was actually quite funny. I enjoy the "Animal House"-style humor, so, I enjoyed this movie.

"Knocked Up" looked like it was going to be very funny, but it was just "ok", to me.

And "Superbad" . . . Well, like you, I'm sure that if I was in high school or if I'd graduated less than six years ago that I'd chuckle at it, but I thought it was a dumb movie. No redeeming qualities, whatsoever.

I haven't seen any of them, but people told me that Superbad is superbad, 40 year old version is ok, and Knocked Up was ok, thanks to Katherine Heigl.

I agree. The only one I liked even a little bit was Knocked Up. Even that one just dragged on way too long. Like you say, maybe we are just too old.

Yes, and thank you for saying so. I have not and will not see this sort of 'entertainment'. I don't think 12 year old toilet humor is funny, unless of course you're 12 years old.

I keep seeing the previews for this sort of lame-brained movies being churned our of Hollywood and I worry about our young people. Talk about being 'dumbed down'. When I was a teenage we were watching All the Presidents Men, Network, The China Syndrome....so you can tell what's happened to the focus in American. Sad.

No! You're all alone. Sorry ;)

<-----Not at all still in high school.

YES-they all had some cute moments and it's too bad they didn't try for that nice quality throughout. Unfortunately, the bad parts over ran the good ones.

I haven't seen superbad yet....I thought 40 year old virgin was funny. knocked up was just ok.

I think these movies were all genius..but i'm 16 years old. I definitely agree that it attracts to a younger crowd..perhaps a more "hip" crowd? ;-] All I know is that in my eyes, they are hilarious and make me feel good, and that's all that count - and I think that when they were making these movies, they knew they wanted to attract viewers my age. They definitely accomplished that.
