Usually. Sometimes it depends on who is selling you the tickets.
If they say something, lie, about how your parents will be coming or something.
Most people selling tickets don't even ID.

yes as long as he has id.

not legally. you have to be 21 to buy tickets to an underage person. just have him buy 2 tickets and wait for him some where the security cant see you directly, and have him give you the tickets there. if they ask then tell them that he's your cousin from new york or chicago and he's visiting for a few weeks

heck ive been gettin into rated R movies since I was 11

it depends on the theatre policy
and if they actually check at the door of the theatre or not

As far as I know, your brother can get you into the movie. Nothing wrong with it. I've never heard of a "law" that prevents adults from bringing minors into an R-rated movie -- movie ratings are set by the Motion Picture Association of America, which is a private entity, not the government.

Of course, some municipalities may have laws about this, but I haven't heard of any.

"R - Restricted
Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. (age may be 18 in some states) " -- from wikipedia

yeh if ur bro as i.d and goes wif u to get it

yes my sister who sis 19 took my younger causin who is 16 to r rated movie, the people at the theater who work ther are so young, i'm sure it just slipt...

yeah but no need to go the the theaters watch it free on www.watch-movies.net a day or 2 after it comes out

Not legally.
Parent or guardian means the person legally responsible for you all the time, not just somebody who is 18.

I was 12 and my brother was 15 when we went to see an r-rated movie together a long time ago. They probably won't question you. Most of the time the people working at theaters are so busy or inattentive they don't notice things like that. They'll probably be too lazy to stop you. They won't care.
I want to see Sweeney Todd too.
